Markdown flavours
CommonMark is the precise standard most tools follow. GitHub-flavoured Markdown (GFM) adds tables, task lists, strikethrough and automatic links. RichMarkdown exports CommonMark plus GFM tables and strikethrough, which works on GitHub, GitLab, Obsidian, VS Code, Notion import and most static site generators.
